Vale da Grama promotes coffees from the region at the 9th Coffee Dinner & Summit

Representatives from the region tasted the product at the Sebrae booth, to more than a thousand participants, from 20 countries

Representatives from Vale da Grama, an origin popularly known in the specialty coffee market, presented the region’s product to more than a thousand participants, from 20 countries, at Coffee Dinner & Summit, event held by the Council of Brazilian Coffee Exporters (Cecafé), on May 25 and 26, in São Paulo (SP), sponsored by the Brazilian Support Service for Micro and Small Enterprises (Sebrae).

The event, which stands out as one of the main global coffee forums, brought together several leaders from all coffee segments in Brazil and the world, with the objective of promoting business prospection, creating commercial opportunities, sharing experiences, and networking, bringing together agribusiness players and coffee lovers.

Vale da Grama’s participation took place at the Sebrae booth at the event, where specialty coffees from the region were tasted and promoted. According to the entity’s Agribusiness Manager, Junior Correia, for several years this producing origin has stood out for the production and marketing of specialty coffees, in a very prosperous area for coffee growing.

“It is worth highlighting the excellent work done by small producers, who have used good harvesting and post-harvest practices, sustainable environmental practices, such as the recovery of degraded areas, by planting native seedlings, in addition to encouraging the application of the ESG criteria, on small and medium-sized properties, increasing the environmental, social, and economic indicators, which raises the region’s coffees to the level of excellence, capable of meeting worldwide demand,” comments Correia.

The Agribusiness manager at Sebrae adds that the Grass Valley is already recognized by the coffee market as an exceptional region for coffee production, “given the high expression, the awards, and the recognition it has received in national and international competitions.

Vale da Grama is located on a plateau, between two mountains of the Mantiqueira Mountains, in São Sebastião da Grama, a municipality in the interior of the state of São Paulo, bordering Minas Gerais.

COFFEE DINNER & SUMMIT

Held by Cecafé, under the theme “Production growth: its challenges and opportunities in times of ESG”, the 9º Coffee Dinner & Summit promoted the debate and reflection on the economic, climatic, regulatory, and logistical challenges, and especially on the sustainable initiatives developed by Brazil and other coffee nations, which respect the criteria of socio-environmental governance.

ZERO CARBON EVENT

Honoring its pillar of action focused on socio-environmental responsibility, sustainability and food safety, Cecafé obtained the Green Seal from reforestation startup Ecooar Biodiversity to neutralize the emission of greenhouse gases (GHG) with the 9th Coffee Dinner & Summit.

By calculating the carbon emissions generated during the two days of the event, the Council offset more than 2.5 tons of CO2 by planting native trees, contributing to the reforestation of Permanent Preservation Areas (APP) at Fazenda Santa Emília, a coffee producer in Garça (SP), where the regeneration of the environment and the preservation of spring waters benefit, directly and indirectly, about one million people in the 62 cities in the region.
